Super UserPower BI skill tests
Is anyone aware of an online portal for testing candidates' Fabric, Power BI, DAX and SQL skills. Especially at a Senior Power BI developer/ consultant level.
- We receive lots of cvs for contractors and want a quick way to screen candidates before we interview them.
I appreciate that Microsoft Certifications are the gold standard, but we are more interested how individuals apply their technical knowledge to build business solutions.
For SQL, there are fairly a number of platforms that cater this:
For Fabric/Power BI, most organizations hiring senior consultants end up creating their own case study. When my current company hired for a Power BI role, I developed a case study and helped evaluate candidates during their online presentations. There were only a handful of applicants at the time, and while the role didn't require deep expertise, candidates still had to demonstrate their problem-solving approach, technical understanding, and ability to explain the reasoning behind their solution.

Usually to evaluate the candidate skill, we used to ask scenario based questions and asking them to implement certain DAX measures from Power BI Desktop by providing sample data and for SQL asking the queries to write by sharing their screen.
