Power BI Desktop local data security

Hello,

I know this question has been asked before but I have contradicting information regarding this. I am required to keep certain data out of the microsoft cloud ecosystem in any way, shape or form. If I only (on a power bi premium license) work with the pbix-files of Power BI Desktop and never publish these reports can I be absolutely certain that none of this data will leave my laptop?

The contradicting information I have regarding this is that as a preemptive measure to publishing (even though this won't happen here) certain reports data is cached externally.

    Hi Anonymous 

    If you publish reports to Power BI service, then it would store data on azure blob storage and azure sql database.

    Since you don't publish, it would store data on your server.

    As amitchandak shared, power bi report server would keep data in your own cloud service which is safe to a certain degree.

      Thank you! I am aware of the reports server option but since these reports shouldn't be shared or just with a very limited amount of people it is overkill.

      So I can rest assured that reports data won't be transfered in any way as long as I don't publish the report right?
