Portfolio Project Feedback Please!
Hi everyone! I am creating a portfolio and I have just finished my first independent project. I would absolutely love some feedback because I want these projects to be as impressive as possible for future employers. Any would be so appreciated. Here's are my recomendations:
Page 1:
The text font could be adjusted to a lighter style, especially considering that the background has a darker tone. This would make the data easier to read, as the labels might otherwise be mistaken for values, such as total claims.Page 2:
The YTD Claim Amount card, depending on the filter applied, does not display the full value. Meanwhile, the Previous YTD Claim Amount shows an error when filtered by Provider Specialty, returning no value. Additionally, the year filter is placed at the center of the report, where it could be easily overlooked. Aligning all filters on the page would improve the interface and make user interactions smoother.Page 3:
It might be helpful to align the objects to ensure the layout looks more organized and cohesive.Page 4:
The recommendations for page 3 also apply here. Furthermore, some visuals return BLANK values when filtering the cards. Replacing these BLANK values with "0" or "--" could improve the storytelling of the report. For the bar chart, filtering instead of using highlighting would enhance readability for the users. This can be done by editing the interactions between visuals in the report.Page 5:
The line chart returns an error when filtered by other visuals and displays empty data when selecting the year 2022. Is this behavior expected? If not, I suggest investigating the dependencies or logic applied to the filters.General Suggestions:
One common observation across all pages is the lack of titles clearly indicating the focus or analysis being presented. Adding titles would provide better context. Moreover, including a navigation bar between pages could significantly improve the user experience, making transitions between sections more seamless.Conclusion:

Here are some optimization suggestions I've added:
1. Report page design
Each report page should have a clear topic of analysis.(Add page titles, change page names)
Place relevant visual objects on the same page to ensure that users can easily find the information they need.
2. Visual layout:
Logical layout: arrange visuals from left to right and top to bottom according to users' reading habits.
Alignment and spacing: Keep visuals aligned and properly spaced to avoid cluttering the page.
3. Global filters and page filters:
Use global filters to control the data view of the entire report.
Use page filters to control the data view of a specific page, providing finer-grained control.
4. Slicer and Filter panels:
Slicers: Add slicers to a report to allow users to dynamically filter data.
Filter Panels: Use filter panels to provide more filtering options without taking up report page space.
5. Tooltips: Add detailed tooltips to provide more contextual information.
6. Navigation and Bookmarks:
Add navigation buttons to help users to quickly switch between different report pages.
Use bookmarks to save specific views to which users can quickly return.
7. Colors and themes:
Use a consistent color theme to ensure that reports are visually uniform.
