Populating dates between text data types

Hey All. I have a SharePoint site that has Start and End dates for migrating applications. The values are not actually date types but have values for start and end dates such as <=2021, 2022 Q4 etc. ...

In theory, you can calculate the gap this way.

Thanks and good idea. However, I don't need to identify a gap per se. I need to count each instance of application appearing during the gap, in the correct Year and Quarter
