Advocate IIINew Parameter option - Fields
Hello,
I have seen a preview of this new feature in one of the Power BI streams.
Does anyone know when this will be available?
If I understand it correctly, it will let you select the "category" field for visuals. for example, it will be possible to change the row field using a slicer in a matrix to get a different distribution of records - pretty cool. I must use a set of bookmarks and buttons to achieve it now
jdusek92 , I think Microsoft's Business sumit, yes those features will take some time to come.
Good news for everyone here! I was searching for an answer to this exact question this morning. Was about to try tweeting Will Thompson for an answer, but updated PBI Desktop (hadn't done that for 1+ months), checked the Preview Features setting and found it there!

jdusek92amitchandak it was an online stream a month ago, can't remember the name, but it was an official Power BI event.
I do not see this new feature in the release plan, but I hope we will get it at some point. As you can see on the screenshots, work has been already done on that
