Need to writeback to Azure SQL database

Hi All ,

 

We are exploring writing back to Azure SQL database from PowerBI.

From what I noticied , Translytical flows can't write to SQL database  hosted in Azure(atleast easily).

We need near realtime updates , Can you please suggest what are our choices ?

Power Apps ? 

Power Automate ?

A combination of both?

Also can you please guide us on the licensing requirements for the same ?

We really appreciate your help and inputs

    Thanks to All for your time , We really appreciate it. For now we have opted for SQL database inside fabric and we are going to use translytical task flows

    Hi Vivek26 ,
    Power BI cannot write back directly to Azure SQL, but you can enable writeback by embedding a Power Apps visual in your report. Users can update or add data through Power Apps, which writes changes instantly to Azure SQL. If you need more complex workflows, you can connect Power Apps to Power Automate to trigger flows that update your database. Both solutions require Power Apps and/or Power Automate licenses (per-app or per-user). For most scenarios, Power Apps embedded in Power BI is the simplest and most real-time option.
