I installed the ODBC driver for MySql and was able to connect to the database in Power BI Desktop, but when configuring the data source credentials on the web I get this error:

I've already installed several drivers for MySql but I still have the same problem. Someone who can help me?

PSD: You need to have a gateway with MySql, because with Sql Azure you don't ask me for a gateway.

    Hi gustavodelgado ,

You may connect to the MySQL data using  MySQL database connector, see the detail: Connect Power BI with MySQL Database.

Follow the steps, there may be a warning "The connector requires one or more additional components to be installed before it can be used." In this Case - Click Learn More link and it will direct to MySQL connector for the .net page: https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/. Select the driver that matches your Power BI Desktop installation (32-bit or 64-bit), Install this and restart the computer.

Then in Power BI Service, verify that you have the correct username and password. Also, verify that those credentials can successfully connect to the data source. Make sure the account that's being used matches the authentication method.

Your data source credential may expire, so try to update the credential and republish the report. In Power BI, go to refresh settings for the dataset. In Manage Data Sources, select Edit credentials to update the credentials for the data source.

Please make sure the gateway is online, and try to upgrade the gateway to latest version.

    Best Regards,

    Amy
