Matrix Aggregation
Hi,
I am using Power BI for the first time and have set up a matrix (example below).
For volume variance, the brand total uses the same calculation as the Product Group. Instead I would like it to show the total of the Product Group calculations. I'm not sure if this requires DAX or is a setting on the matrix ?
Many Thanks in advance,
Lucas
Hey Lucas,
Try something like the below for your Volume Variance measure:
Volume Variance = SUMX ( VALUES ( Table[Brand] ), [Units Variance] * [LY Price per unit] )If that doesn't work, can you please share your data model? I've made some assumptions about the model in writing out the syntax above.

If this post helps, please consider accepting it as the solution to help other members find it quickly. Also, don't forget to hit that thumbs up and subscribe! (Oh, uh, wrong platform?)P.S. Need a more in-depth consultation for your Power BI data modeling or DAX issues? Feel free to hire me on Upwork or DM me directly on here! I would love to clear up your Power BI headaches.

Lucas_Radebe First, please vote for this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=082203f1-594f-4ba7-ac87-bb91096c742e
This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376
Also, this Quick Measure, Measure Totals, The Final Word should get you what you need:
