Matrix Aggregation

Hi,

I am using Power BI for the first time and have set up a matrix (example below).

For volume variance, the brand total uses the same calculation as the Product Group.  Instead I would like it to show the total of the Product Group calculations.  I'm not sure if this requires DAX or is a setting on the matrix ?

Many Thanks in advance,

Lucas

  • Hey Lucas,

    Try something like the below for your Volume Variance measure:

    Volume Variance =
    SUMX (
        VALUES ( Table[Brand] ),
        [Units Variance] * [LY Price per unit]
    )

    If that doesn't work, can you please share your data model? I've made some assumptions about the model in writing out the syntax above.
