Map and filled map visuals aren't enabled

Hi All,

I have a professional license for PowerBI, but when I log in with my Microsoft account, an error message appears when viewing the maps.

However, when I'm logged out, the map displays correctly. I've done some research and tried several actions :

  • Clearing the cache,

  • Adjusting the file settings by checking and unchecking certain options, but none have resolved the issue.

Even my company's support team hasn't been able to find a solution regarding the use of map and filled map visuals.

Could you please provide some guidance please ?

ERROR MESSAGE : Map and filled map visuals aren't enabled for your org. Contact you tenant admin to fix this

I apologize I can't add the image (error loading on the support page)

I'm not the only one with this problem in the company

Regards,

M.

  • Hi MmR69

Your Power Bi admin has disabale these map visual from portal. so when you not login it shows properly but when you login your map visuals are disabled.

you have to raised a this request to your Tenant Admin. if he enables this feature by followin this steps:

you will able to see the map visual. other people are also facing the same issue when their admin has disable this map visualization feature.

This can be resolved by your Tenant admin.

I hope I answered your question!

  • Being a newbie I found some of the replies accurate but less than clear. I have just managed to switch this on myself. Here are my comments. I hope they help.

By default Map and Filled Map visuals are disabled in Power BI Desktop and Power BI.

From Power BI Desktop > File > Options and Settings > Options > Global > Security > Map and Filled Map Visuals

The above only works if you are not logged in to Power BI.

From Power BI Desktop > Login to Power BI

Power BI > Top Left Corner = 9 Stack (App launcher) > Admin > ... Show all > All admin centers > Power BI

If you cannot see Admin in App launcher then you are not an Admin for your domain (tenant).

This takes you to the Microsoft Fabric > Admin portal

Admin portal > Tenant settings > Integration settings > Map and filled map visuals > Enable > Apply

    Enabled for the entire organization

There are a whole host of flags you can toggle here. Integration settings is about halfway down the list.

Here's the URL to the Power BI Admin portal:

    https://app.powerbi.com/admin-portal/tenantSettings?language=en-GB&experience=power-bi

When I initally tried to do this it was for a new domain. So I had to confirm I was the admin for the domain by creating a DNS entry for Microsoft in my domain. But that's another story.

  • Hi, in the filled maps is possible in the "Fill color" section to enable an option to include "Dots", "Lines", and other visual elements instead of colors?

  • Hi all.

I'm having a similar issue getting the maps to visualize in Power BI desktop. I have enabled the map and mapvisualization in tenant admin (image is from my admin portal). Does anyone know of another solution to resolve this?
