  • Hi Mitul123

This behavior happens because you are not signed in to Power BI Desktop. When you insert elements from the Insert tab (buttons, shapes, etc.), Power BI tries to access features that require authentication, so it keeps asking you to log in.

    To fix this:

    1. Sign in from the top-right corner of Power BI Desktop (one-time login should stop the pop-ups).

    2. Make sure you are on the latest version of Power BI Desktop.

    3. If the issue continues, clear cached credentials under File > Options and settings > Data source settings, then sign in again.

If none of these steps help, it may be a tenant/organization policy issue or a recent bug, and you should open a support ticket with Microsoft.

        Hi Mitul123

That it worked fine in the past does not contradict what I mentioned. Even a small change — for example, an update in Power BI Desktop, the operating system, or a network/security policy in your organization — can trigger this login behavior. The recommendations I gave remain the right steps to try.

  • HI Mitul123

You are correct.this is happening from last few days.

if you try to create anything in powerbi desktop without signin ,it keeps on asking credentials.

i guess there is some issue in the recent build of powerbi desktop.try signin as suggested by rita.

if you dont have signin, try downloading older version of powerbi.

please go through below thread to  install older version.

  • Hi Mitul123 ,

Thank you for confirming that you've already tried signing in and have tested previous versions, as that helps eliminate some common issues.

Here are two additional things to check

    1.  If you’re using Power BI through your company or institution, there may have been recent changes to authentication policies. It’s worth checking with your IT administrator to see if any new sign in requirements or access controls have been implemented.
    2. Uninstall Power BI Desktop completely, then manually remove any leftover folders (especially in AppData). Afterward, reinstall the latest version. This can resolve issues caused by corrupted settings.

    Hope this helps..

    Regards,
    Yugandhar.
