Line and Stacked Column Chart Yaxis Customization

Hello, I am writing this post because I can find a way to customize the quantities on y axis.

I have a Line and Stacked Column Chart on which I have both lines and columns with the same Measure Unit. Now, I want to add a new line but I need to set it on the secondary y-axis. This seems not possible because if I activate the secondary axis, all lines are pushed on it.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi marco_2020 ,

Try to use a custom visual - Multiple Axes Chart - XViz.

  • Hi marco_2020 ,

On this type of chart the columns are place on one y-axis and the lines no another one if you turn on secondary axis so there is no "workaround" this.

But can you please explain a little bit better what you are trying to achieve? Maybe using a custom visual or some measure there is the option to do what you need.

      Hi MFelix,

thank you for you answer. I need exacltly the "Line and Stacked Column Chart" with the possibility to add another line to place on the second axis. So I have 2 stacked columns and 1 line on the first y-axis and another line on the secondary axis.

Do you know any workaround for this?

      Still thanks.

        Hi marco_2020 ,

Sorry I wasn't clearn on my question.

How do you have the chart setup, do you have legend, do you have measures, are you having one measure in % and the other in quantity?

can you share some more insight.

      Hi amitchandak and MFelix,

I have in total 4 quantities to be plotted. 3 of them havent unit measure (they are 3 different count), while the 4th has its own unite measure.

2 of the first 3 quantities have to be plotted in stacked columns, while the other with a line. For these 3 quantities I don't need the secondary axis.

I want to add the 4th quantity as a further line and I want it on the second y-axis.

All 4 quantities are Power BI measures.

      Have I been clearer?

      Thanks

      Hi,

I have tried the Custom Visual you proposed. I have a couple of questions:

Is it possible to change colors as for the PBI original charts?

Do I have to buy license for publishing or is there a sort of free license with only some functionalities?

      Thanks,

      Marco
