Is this "double filter" possible?

I'm not sure what to call this. Double Filter seems appropriate but searching the forum the problems wouldn't look the same.

I have a Part Number which is has many Test Modes which are tested for pass/fail.

The Matrix Table on the top left summarizes the high level failure rate.

The Waterfall Chart at the top right breaks the higher level into specific Test Mode failure rates.

The Column Chart at the bottom right displays the distribution of values for a specific Test Mode.

This all works great until I want to drill down into a specific Part Number.

Here I've clicked on Part Number ending in 123.

It works as expected. Filtering the charts down to the specific Part Number only.

The problem happens when then drilling into a Test Mode.

The desired behavoir is for the Part Number selection to remain intact while adding in the Test Mode (in this case OV_1).

However, once a Test Mode is selected the Part Number is unfiltered.

I've played with the Edit Interactions by setting the Part Number to not filter when interacting with the Test Mode Failure chart. It does it anyway. 😕

Is it possible to do this type of "double filter"?

  • Anonymous - Hold down the Ctrl key when selecting the next thing. As I recall, this keeps the previous selection and adds the next selection as an additional filter. If I am understanding what you are trying to do that should do it.

Wow... took longer to post the question than get an answer! Thanks Greg_Deckler!

Is there a way to set that as default behavior?

        Hi Anonymous

Taking time to pen down the question gets the resolver exact information and an actual glimpse of stepping in your shoes to understang the problem.

Holding control to select multiple records is the best option for your requirement and this cannot be set as a default behaviour.
