Intraday Incremental Refresh Issue

All,

I have a requirement that is as follows:

1. Need to capture network and device information from our existing edge devices. This informaiotn is written to a table regulraly throughout the day for each device.

2. Each device only maintains 1 record in the table and it is updated periodically throughout the day (say every 30 minutes)

3. PowerBI can inrementally load data but is looking for a day at a time so the issue is I am only getting the final record for the day and not the history of records througout the day.

example:

Row initially created at 8 AM

Row updated (not new row created) at 10 AM

Row updated at 12 PM

Row Updated at 4 PM

I need to capture all 4 rows but current incremental refresh is only giving the last row of data

Can this even be done?

Thanks,

Steve

  • This is not possible. You need a ETL/ELT job to write this data to a database/lake/warehouse
