Intelligent Date slicer
Hi
PowerBi has the classic date slicer which could be "between" or "relative" or other methods. The most practical one is the relative, so the last period is always preselected. However it cannot be used to look at past data, as you can't switch and look only last month. An especially if you want to look at custom ranges it's another (rather ugly) slicer. An ideal selector would be one with a custom date range but with the ability to preselect a period. How do you solve this issue?

Hi Anonymous ,
How about using between option in slicer?

Hi
that's part of the issue. The Between selector is fairly ugly and does not allow to preslect common ranges (like last month, last week or such). Very impractical.
PLUS the main reason why I use the Relative selector is that you can let the people always see the latest data, as you can preselect it to "This Month" and works always. - AnonymousNot applicable
As an example, this is a good selector. Date Ranges + Preselected ones:
