Anonymous great question. Did you read about an incremental refresh? If yes what and where you think things are failing?

I have set up parameters and then applied them as filters to the data set in power query.
and when i goto incremental refresh options, i get this.
also when it comes to the gateway, here is what power BI cloud says:

Hi Anonymous ,
Your parameters seem to be configured incorrectly.
The names of these two parameters are fixed, and the data type must be a date/time type.
Please check the parameters again.
In addition, Google Analytics does not need to add a gateway because it is a cloud data source.

Anonymous - did you ever get this working?
When I look at my Google Analytics queries, and right click on one of the 'steps' - "Native Query" option is greyed out, which typically means that it doesn't support query folding / therefore incremental refreshes. But if you did get it working, I would love to hear!
