How to use parameters from a live data source

I have bene using parameters successfully. Now i have created a parameter that takes its source from a query (ie a list from a source located on an Excel file) and i run into trouble with the error :

Formula.Firewall : Requête « Sales 2 » (étape « Filtered Rows ») référence d'autres requêtes ou étapes et ne peut donc pas accéder directement à une source de données. Reconstruisez cette combinaison de données

 

Roughly : my Query is referencing other Queries etc

 

Is there an a rule stating that this is not possible (yet) or what should i change?

    PS i mean when i use that parameter in a Query

      Thank you Charlie,

       

      I have done so much testing that i can't find the test PBix where i had the problem.
      I found a post where someone had succeeded by changing the Privacy settings in File > Options > Privacy and it worked for me.

      If i find the File i will post it.

      Currently, my main issue is with Data Refresh for which Support has been working for more than 4 Weeks without any clue.

      I Wonder if you can help...
