How To set a TImeout in Redshift
Hey guys,
Since last week I constantly get a timeout error on m Power BI model. I have no idea why it times out after 7-10min. It never happened before (Redshift has been connected to PBI for last 2 years). I udnerstand that it could happen after 1h+ but after 10min?
So I am trying to add to the m query timeout command but keep getting this error:
Expression.Error: 'CommandTimeout' is not a valid Amazon Redshift option. Valid options are: 'BatchSize'

Source = AmazonRedshift.Database("xxx", "xxx", [CommandTimeout=#duration(0, 1, 0, 0)]),
Where should the timeout command be implemented then?

This is the format format for general SQL datasources, for RedShift try add the batchsize option in the code.Please refer to: Solved: Timeout Issue Online - Redshift - Microsoft Power BI Community

If this post helps, please Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.I did try that it worked for a couple of refreshese and again I get a timeout but this time due to the fact it takes more than 120min.
What I don't get is why sometimes PBI takes only 205-45min to complete a refresh and sometimes it gets stuck and times out after 120min. Is it because the redshift connector needs to wait for redshift to complete its own refresh before it can "grab" the data?
