Hierarchy chart

Hi guys

I have a hierarchical data that uses parent and child structure (parent_ID and child_ID to form hierarchy). I tried Hierarchy Chart by Akvelon but it is very limited and not visually impressive.
Are there any other good hierarchy chart options that have a good visual representation and provide some customizability as well.

Thanks

The new Decomposition Tree visual may work for you.

It was introduced in the November 2019 release as a preview feature so make sure you have the latest version of Power BI desktop installed.

To enable the feature, go to File>>Options and settings>>Options>>Preview features

    Then tick Decomposition tree visual.

The visual will then appear in the Visualisation pane.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

    Martyn

Thank you for the reply MartynRamsden.
I actually forgot to mention that I am using Power BI Optimized for Report Server, whose latest build is of Sept 2019. Moreover, the PBI Optimized for RS doesnt even have a preview feature seciton.

      Any other suggestion?

        Hi Anonymous

Hopefully, the decomposition tree visual will be available for you in a future release of Power BI (Optimized for Report Server).

In the meantime, it may be worth trying some of the other hierarchy visuals from the marketplace - if you haven't already.

I haven't used any of them so can't comment on how useful they are:

        • Hierarchy Tree - xViz
        • Tree - CK Corporation
        • Ultimate Decomposition Tree - Klaus Birringer
        • TreeViz - AutoCont CZ a.s.

        Good luck!

        Best regards,

        Martyn
