Hide data field from visual?
I have two tables linked by claimant name and I know the data is correct but I'm having trouble with it being represented visually the way I'd like it to look. I want the graph to show a total of 3 cases (2 not litigated, 1 yes litigated) for this one provider. However, I do not want to see the 3 claimants' names, only the provider's name. Essentially this data below should be one column on the x-axis (showing # of litigated and non litigated cases) and I only want to see one name (name of the provider).
Is there a way to include claimant name as a filter for the visual (so there is a count of 3 cases for this specific provider) - but without separating the data into the three claimant names? When I use the filter option I still see all claimant names listed as possible boxes to check and uncheck.
Hi eliseglines
Currently, the only way to visually hide an x-axis field is by substituting it with an equivalent representation that uses invisible characters. In the image below, I ranked the category fields and use the number to repeat a no-width space character represented by UNICHAR ( 8203 )
Please see the attached pbix.

danextian thank you very much - with your help I was able to create an invisible category so the claimant name is no longer on the graph.
Just to confirm, then - there is no way to group the litigated cases on the graph? For instance, rather than showing three individual columns (each representing a distinct point from the invisible category)- no way to group yes/no litigation by provider?
really appreciate your help- thank you!- danextianSuper User
I'm not exaclty sure what you want to do but can't you use legends?

Thanks - I'm using legends for showing yes/no litigated cases. But the columns along the x-axis (dictating the invisible category) are still separated. For instance, the invisible category has A, B, C. A and B are "yes" litigated - shown in blue. C is "no" litigated - shown in red. Rather than there being one yes and one no column (2 in blue, 1 in red) - there are three distinct columns each with a count of 1. Two of these are blue and 1 is red.
I was trying to see if I could bypass the invisible category field separating the data such that all litigated cases could be grouped together.
I really appreciate your help - it was cool to get code that worked!
