Help on dynamic formatting for numeric values

In a dashboard, lets say i have some bar charts, columncharts, matrix etc., and in formatting of those charts, in display units, i can either select K or M, but i want values lesser than 1M in K and rest in M, i have a solution, but the problem is lets say i have 40 measures in use so i have to create 40 another just for formatting, but i want a single measure solution which i can plugin in formaating of that chart

  • ravneet_artist - If it is visual specific, you could use 'Visual Calculations' to add a formatted column just for that visual.

You could use the above in a calculation group. Add the calculation group to the visual and set the calc item to selectedmeasure(), for the format string of the calc item check if the result is numeric, if so apply the format string

    Hi ravneet_artist,

If calculation groups don't work for you, it sounds like you should be selecting 'Dynamic' for your measures formatting option.

This gives you more control over the way your measures are formatted. Although if it is just for the single visual this won't work.

I'll leave this here anyway, just in case it's useful...
