gateway installation
Windows 10 Pro. When I try to install the on premises gateway, I get a message that the 'install failed'. No more information.
I am able to install in personal mode, but get the message 'Gateway is configured correctly but is unreachable due to local network connectivity problems'.
I can ping the SQL server from this machine. The firewall is turned off. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing (Nov 2019 version of gateway). I can also open PowerBi Desktop from the same machine and do a refresh of the data and publish. .Net version is 4.8.
Gateway worked for about a month before it stopped refreshing. I then tried to upgrade the gateway to solve the issue and am running into the issues above. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi kvierra ,
Do you use any anti-virus software? If yes, please check if it is out of date. You can either update the anti-virus installation, or disable anti-virus only for the duration of the gateway installation to complete, then re-enable anti-virus.
You can try to follow these steps to re-install gateway.
-
Uninstall the gateway.
-
Delete the following folder.
c:\Program Files\On-premises data gateway
- Reinstall the gateway.
-
Optionally apply the recovery key to restore an existing gateway.
Best Regards,
Xue Ding
