Hi everyone,

I am new to Power BI and look to solve the following problem:

I have a table of strings that looks something like this:

Column 1 Column 2
A Yes
A Yes
A No
B Maybe
B Maybe
C Technical
D Technical
D Contract

I want to count (sum) all variables in column 2 for each variable in column 1.

Preffered output looks like:

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3

A Yes 2

A No 1

B Maybe 2

C Technical 1
D Technical 1

D Contract 1

Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you very much in advance!

Dear Dale,

Yes, thank you for your solution! The main problem was with a related table and the data type. It is fixed now.

Hi Martijn Kamps,

Actually there are two ways we can go.
Option 1: Use a measure.
Measure = COUNT ( Table1[Column2] )
Option 2: Add column2 twice, then choose count.
