Filter date range based in fact table

It would be better to limit your Calendar table such that it covers your fact dates, but not more.

Isn't a calendar table of up to 2099 an overkill? I have a calendar table of up to 8 weeks from today but that is because I use the future dates for forecasting. If, for some reason, you really need all those, I would a future date indicator column and use that to filter the dates. Example:
IsFuture = Dates[Date] >= TODAY ()
