Export to CSV too large?

Hi All

Im trying to generate a report from Power BI to Excel CSV. - Its an apended report from 35 sheets in one excel document into a single sheet with all 35 sheets in one single sheet.

I have been refreshing the same report for over a month now.

No new lines are added, however the information in the lines on the source document is constantly changed (hence having to update constantly to generate an updated report). 

Up to yesterday I was able to generate a report. Today after refreshing and trying to export I suddenly get the message that my Data exceeds the Limit - Your data is too large. Some data sampling may occur. 

I have around 700 lines so this should not be an issue as I know you can go up to 30k?

File size also less than max I believe (1.7MB)

When I do say sample (to see what happens) it only populates about half of the data (just over 300 rows). Is there an update/bug that crept in over night? Was it something I did? I have only been using Power BI for about 2 months now so it is quite possible that my ignorance is the cause. 

 

Any help would be much appreciated

      Thank you, will try the .xlsx option, however I only have 700 rows (Appended), so its well below the 30 000 max.

      The core work sheet is also 1.9MB and the last exported sheet was last week friday and it was 352kb - since then no rows were added, only cell content changed in the source workbook.

       

      I can view the work book in Power BI, I am unable to export 

       

       

      Then I get the following message

       

       

      I also did a check, it is happening on all of my reports. I have 9 Power BI Reports (different files) with different source files and each of them gives me the same message when trying to export.

    Having the same issue here. Report with 500 odd lines won't export saying Data Exceeds Limit.

    Are you on the new version -  2.121.644.0 64-bit (September 2023)

      Yup, thats the one. 

       

      I did however figure out that when I publish my desktop report to my worksheet on Microsoft 365. Open the Report from there and then export I do not get the issue.

       

      Its a massive run-around and annoying but at least I am able to generate my reports untill someone is able to let me know what the issue is / what I am doing wrong.

        Hi all,

        2023-09-18 update:
        The deployment of the fix has begun and has been completed in some areas.

        This is a known issue.
        Power BI known issues - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
        Solved: Exporting to CSV from Power BI Service - Microsoft Fabric Community

        The product team is currently working on fixing this issue.

        For the desktop a possible mitigation is to use the older version of the desktop.

        In the service, the issue is specific to exporting to Csv format. A possible mitigation is to export to excel and the convert the file to csv. 

        I'll update here with any new news.

      300 rows is the limit I am reaching with the same version.
