Exploring Clickable Manager Navigation Instead of Drillthrough
Hi,
I've created a mock-up of a potential navigation experience for the AI Adoption Dashboard.
The idea is that instead of using Drillthrough (which may be difficult to explain and adopt for leaders/managers), we make the Manager Name clickable, similar to a button or hyperlink.
When a user clicks a manager, it would navigate to a dedicated manager details page showing:
The selected manager's organization/team only
A similar matrix view (without the leader slicer)
Tool adoption counts and percentages
Additional visuals such as bar charts showing adoption by AI tool
Any relevant team-level insights
The goal is to provide a more intuitive "click and explore" experience that f
eels like navigating through the organization hierarchy, rather than requiring users to understand Drillthrough functionality.
Would this type of page navigation be technically feasible in Power BI?
Thank you for you help in advance
Hi puneethjp,
You can not Directly drill through by clicking in the MATRIX,
Alternatively you can add a "View details" button to move user to the next page using the drill through functionality.
- Create a drill through page and add manager in the drill through field.
- Create a matrix or any visual on your navigation page (Main Page).
- Add a button on the main page named "View details"
- Undet formatting in action of the button select drill through and Add destination page to destination
User van select any manager name in any visual (Matrix)and click on "View details" to navigate to details page and he/she should see the filtered data base on the selection.
I've attached a sample .pbix file for your reference.

puneethjp maybe you can leverage drillthough button, you can make button title dynamic:
