Error converting invalid input with source encoding UTF-8 using ICU
Good day,
I am trying to load Hadoop data into my Power BI report using an ODBC connection (Cloudera ODBC Driver for Impala) and I keep encountering the error mentioned above. Full error message can be seen here: ODBC Error
I haven't been able to come across anything related to this error in the internet. I am not very familiar with encoding and such so I could use a little help. Thanks in advance!

I have resolved this issue, but I am not really sure how. I uninstalled the Cloudera Driver for Impala and reinstalled an older version, then I set up the ODBC connection again. When I used this connection in my report, I was able to successfully load the Hadoop data without any error.
Not sure if it was a bug or a problem on the ODBC driver, but yeah there's that.

v-chuncz-msft I have tried that option but it is limited in terms of inputting a custom Hadoop query. That's why I am using the ODBC connector.
Do you have any idea on what causes the error that I am encountering? Getting a bit desperate here. :smileysad:

Any ideas on what steps I can take to resolve/debug this problem? Would really appreciate your help.- Greg_Deckler

Hmmm, I'll see if I can take a look but I don't really have a good way to test.
