Error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server
Hi Experts,
I am getting this error after our cloud team has installed VPN with SQL server. PBI gateway and SQL server are on same RDP. it was working correctly but since VPN is installed for security reason gateway is able able to connect with SQL server. They have whitelisted everything (IPs) but still not able to figure out the issue.
I am able to refresh data from Desktop but not from PBI service.
Any help woud be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Hi Uzi2019
Try this command from your host machine to check whether the SQL port is open or not.
Open cmd and try this command
Telnet [your system IP] 1433if you are getting this error it means you need to allow your system IP address on whitelist.
Appreciate with Kudos if you like my solution!
