Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Hi,
I'm seeing the following error:
The photo message is in Portuguese, the translate for this would be: An unhandled exception occurred in a component in your application. If you press continue the application you will ignore the error and try to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The only thing i did was edit my SQL instruction on Power Query. I already tried to reduce the data, but nothing changes.
So, the resume is:
- i edit the SQL instruction (any kind of edition starts the problem)
- after a few seconds, the error message comes
- after something like 20 secs power BI shuts down automatically
Does anyone know what i shold do?

Hello @GustavoHuster ,
Please review the following blog and try the solutions in the post to resolve your issue.
How to resolve unhandled exception error occurred in Windows 10
If the previous blog can't help you, provide the following information:
1. What is the version of Your Power BI Desktop?
2. If you have always received this error message when editing any report or only any specific report?
3. Please create a blank query and paste the same codes applied with the report you received the error message in the Advanced Editor and check if it works?
Best regards
Rena

Hi Anonymous ,
Based on my experience with Power BI and this type of errors this can be something very specific from your machine or setup.
Have you tried making the same steps on a different machine and check if the errors persists?
I would place this error on the issues part of the forum, with the details that the message gives you. To my experience microsoft will contact you soon.
