'Enter Data' Limitation
birdie29 Couple thoughts: 1) did you add the excel file as a data source in the gateway (assuming you are using the OPDG) 2) You could always create a table in SQL to house the data... shouldn't have any issues there.
Anonymous Thanks for your quick reply! I must be honest I didn't set up the gateway our IT Systems Manager did but it is a OPDG connection. They are both great suggestions so I'm grateful for your solutions.
I suppose my only reservation is that I would like to be able to control the excel connections myself so it's easier for me to chop and change how the data may look, hence my desire to be able to use the 'Enter Data' function. The reason being Power BI reporting is only just getting started where I work so the requests are constantly changing.
Thanks again for the help!

Hi birdie29,
What is the exact issue when you add data source for Excel file under gateway? When you have multiple data sources (SQL Server, SSAS, Excel) in a dataset, and put excel file on OneDrive , you can utilize personal gateway to schedule refresh for your dataset.
