Dynamic parameters for SQL statment in native Query (import mode)

Hello everyone,

After some research i came across this article that discribe how to bind parameters to a column.

Dynamic parameters allow parameters in Power Bi to be bound to a column, in which any time the column is explicitly filtered by the user, the visuals on the page will be updated by reprocessing the queries using the paramter value(s) the user has selected.

Do you know when  such features will be possible with SQL statment in a native query (import mode)?

  • Tarik37 I don't think this feature makes sense if you are using the import model coz data is already imported in the memory, it is more to direct query when an only a small set of queries are executed.

    What would be the use case for this to work in import mode?

  • Tarik37 seems like you want to limit your native query to only pull data based on a date range. I guess for now you need to use direct query instead of import.

  • Hi parry2k,

    In my case i use a native query with SQL statment to import a volume of data select * from Table where datecolumn  between datefirst and datelast;

    Datefirst and datelast are my parametres if i Can bind column to it i Can allow a user to changé thé values of parameters throught a slicer without having to go to the menu manage parameters etc.

    Sorry for my english
