Impactful Individualdoes the on prem service get installed on a sql server?
Hi we have to use the on prem service which i'm sure is documented in a couple of links provided to me in this forum by experts. One doc i have to read is 250 pages which i hope to get to by this weekend. In the mean time, we are wondering about spinning up a machine on which the on prem service will run. does it need to be a sql server? And maybe i should ask, does it matter if it is installed on a sql server?
No, SQL server is not required to be on this machine.
Best practice suggests that it is best not to install other services on the machine as these two services will compete for memory and CPU. This is really good advice for your production gateway but you may be more lax in a development environment where performance may be less important.
