DIRECT query - LOOKUPVALUE function does not support / Looking for alternative function

I am using Direct query and want to use the LOOKUPVLAUE function, which does not support it. What could be the alternative for Loockupvalue in direct query

Shree_185  you can't create a calculated column in DQ, so you need to create measures or you can have the column created on the RDBMS side if possible
