What are the benefits/drawbacks of using "Mark as Date Table" as opposed to creating my own date table using Calendarauto and then adding columns for day, month, quarter and year?

Solution SageHi CraigSchulz,
Manually specifying a table as a Date Table removes Power BI's hidden "auto" date tables, giving you better control over time intelligence, etc.
You can still mark your own CalendarAuto table as a date table. Regardless of how it's created, it's just a good idea to have a formally labelled one. Here's a good video by MattAllington describing some of the benefits.
