Date format problem

Hello guys,   I have an Excel-file and in it I have the Date in one column like this: 01.2016, 02.2016, 03.2016...12.2016.. When I import this Excel file to Power BI I have it like in the first pic...
Need Help

    In the Query Editor, undo the change type step.

     

    Then try to change the type to date.

     

    Apply the changes then it is done.
