Date Format in Data View differs from Report View

Date Format in Data View differs from Report View.   In Date View the format is DD/MM/YYYY; while all reports that are created are MM/DD/YYYY.   Tried changing both the global / file settings but...

Hi Florimond ,

  1. If the data comes from Power Query
    Sometimes the issue originates there. Make sure that:
  • The column is set to Date type, not Text
  • You avoid automatic “Changed Type (Locale)” steps that may cause mismatches
  1. Check the column data type and format
    In Model view:
  • Select the date column
  • Confirm Data type = Date (not Text)
  • Set the format explicitly (e.g. dd/MM/yyyy)
  1. Check model culture (very important)
    Go to:
    File → Options and settings → Options → Regional settings
  • Set the Model language / locale to your required format (e.g. English (UK))
  • Then refresh the model
