data level security

Dear All

I have to prepare a report with the sales details, sales variance of few managers.

Lets assume that it's a column chart with manager names on X axis and Sales Total on Y axis.

When I publish this as a dashboard, I have to share this among all these managers.

How can I display this dashboard with the corresponding managers sales details when they logs in?

What filter role can be applied here that can restrict the sales view user wise?

Is there any option to filter the report based on the logged in user? If so how can I map the user name from AAD to the report view?

Kind Regards

Matthews

  • Hi vipinkmathews,

Suppose there is a [ManagerName] field in fact table, then, you could create role for each of them.

After publishing the report to service, select the ellipse (…) for this dataset, select security, add each manager to corresponding role you created in Power BI Desktop.

For more detailed steps, please see Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI

    Best regards,
