Custom Matrix - using calculated columns and/or measures

For some reason my previous post got deleted...

Anyway

I have been working with some data and finally figure a way to get the measures going, my visuals look good but i cannot create this summary matrix comparing different measures on the same column

I have the initial data, Scenario A (calculated within PowerBI) and scenario B (Using what if parameter)

Im looking to create a matrix like this, however Initial data gross revenue is one measure/column, scenario A gross revenue is another measure/column and scenario B is yet another measure (no column here since it was made using what it parameter)

Gross RevenueNet RevenueGross MarginGross Margin %$ GR Diff$ NR Diff$ GM Diff% GR Var% NR Var% GM Var
Initial Data                  9,700,000                  9,000,000                  3,000,00033%
Scenario A                10,670,000                  9,970,000                  3,970,00040%         970,000         970,000         970,00010.0%10.8%32.3%
Scenario B                11,155,000                10,455,000                  4,455,00043%     1,455,000     1,455,000     1,455,00015.0%16.2%48.5%

Hope im being clear enough, truth be told i dont even know if i can create this in power bi and perhaps i should keep exporting and working on excel...

I haven't used DAX a lot so bear with me on this one...

thanks in advance!

  • gmq , to me it seems like you have a measure that needs to be split on both row and column.

Not sure on mesures and data.

    Refer this example

    union(
summarize("Measure","Share of Voice", "YTD",[Share of Voice YTD], "LYTD",[Share of Voice LYTD], "Change %",[Share of Voice %]),
    summarize("Measure","SOV Rank", "YTD",[SOV Rank YTD], "LYTD",[SOV Rank LYTD], "Change %",[SOV Rank %])
    )

meausres are Share of Voice YTD, Share of Voice LYTD, SOV Rank YTD and SOV Rank LYTD has been converted into row and column

gmq  I think you may be looking to show the Values on Rows - Select the matrix, click the paint roller icon to format the visual, expand Values > turn Show on Rows to On.
