Connecting to SQL Server Stalls Out

When I attempt to connect to my remote sql server in my existing Power BI project file, it just sits with a spinning wheel after I click "ok". The navigation window is never displayed and I am never prompted for credentials. 

 

 

If I open a new Power BI project file and try to connect to the same SQL server, I am prompted for credentials (I'm using windows authentication) and then the navigation window appears and I can select my data appropriately. 

 

Any suggestions for why the sql server connect stalls after I click "ok" in my existing project file, but it works almost immediately in a new project file?

    Anonymous , First of all, check if the same details are working SQL server management studio. and confirm the same. Also, make sure you are on the latest version of Power bi.

     

    What is the version SQL server ?
