Connect data set after publish data

Hi, 

I have created power bi dashboard (report) and published in to power bi workspace and

got few issues with connecting datasource.

 

1. I have mysql database on AWS and connected to power bi locally. What kind of steps do I need to get. 

 

2. In this step do I need to update both Gateway Connection and Data Source Credentials to connect power bi project to live database ?

 

3. 

 

4. What should I do next. I setup both  and added scheduled refresh in to dataset. 

I got issue when scheduled refresh . 
Ex : I have 5 users in table and publish new report as 10 users,  Then add 2 users to the DB and do scheduled refresh,

After data set change to 5 users. (previous count) . It should be 12 users. 

What Im doing wrong ? Please response.

    Anonymous it is not clear what is your data source? Is it on-prem or cloud source?

      Its a cloud source database.(AWS).

    Hi Anonymous,

    What type of data connector are you test? Amazon Redshift connector for MySQL data connector? If you mean the first one, it not required to use the gateway to manage refresh, you only need to verify your data source credentials. If you are work with MySQL connector, it required to use the gateway to manage refresh operations. 

    Power BI data sources 

    For the refresh not get the last records, have you enabled any cache feature on your refresh configuration?
