Column name changes and data missing
Hi All,
Currently running into a problem where my dataset is returning incorrect names and removing columns on close and apply. for example: in power query I have a column called "Name", this is renamed to "Project Name" in some of the applied steps, once this is applied and I go to report view, the column name goes back to "Name". There are a few other instances like this, as well as removing columns from the dataset.
I have tried the following:
- Unhiding the values from the table in the report view and this doesn't work
- Duplicating the table in transform data to see if it pulls through
- Starting with a fresh powerBi report
- The dataset itself is a direct query dataset and I have tried switching to import and still have the same issue
What's strange though is that the Test environment reports work as intended but not the live environment reports, I have tried using the Test ones as a basis and switch the URL over to live but still not working.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Kind Regards,
Jake W

- Check if the column renaming is supported by your source. Some data sources may not allow renaming of columns at the Power BI level
- If you have added or renamed columns in Power Query, after applying the changes, refresh the dataset in the report view to ensure that the new structure is picked up.
- Clear the data cache in Power BI Desktop

Hi Kedar,
Thanks for the response,
Have removed all steps in Power Query after the navigation as a test and for some reason it still renames the columns, even when there is no step telling it to do so.
Also have cleared the data cache and still no luck,
Any other ideas?

Can you please post your queries with the data source masked?

Hi Slappyafish ,
Please go to Table view and check whether the Quality column is hidden or not. the hidden columns will not appear in the Report view.
