Clear (all) Filter Button

Hello experts

I am looking for the following possibility to add a "Clear Filter" button. When I click on it, it should only clear the filters in the default filter bar of PowerBI.

So when I press the button the filters in the orange area should be reset and the ones in the green area should be ignored.
I tried it with bookmarks but there I can only control the filters (green) on the page.

Is such a control via a clear filter button possible or is there another solution?

Thanks πŸ™‚

  • I am not sure what updated provided it, I have the most recent one from this March 2023, but in the Insert tab under the Elements section there is a button provided for clear all slicers!

    Hello showy ,

there is an approach that would work, but only for the slicers for all pages.

You can create an empty page, reset the slicers for all pages and save that bookmark with only the data and all visuals option:

If you call the bookmark only the slicers for all pages will be reset. But the slicers for "current page" would still remain.

    Would that work for you?

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution βœ”οΈ and give it a thumbs up πŸ‘

    Best regards
    Denis

Thank you. Was looking for this and this worked for me.

  • I realise I am late to the party, but I have found a way to make the limitations of Power BI work for you. It just so happens that the clear all filters button will NOT work for any slicer visual that has 'Force selection' turned ON. I have a panel of slicers on a page and then two other slicers outside the panel but still on the page. I do NOT want these two slicers outside the panel to be cleared. I made both of these 'Force selection' (happily that was Ok for me). Now, when I click on the PBI clear filters button, it clears all the slicers on the page except the two outside the panel that have forced selection. Voila! Hope this helps someone πŸ™‚
