To resolve this issue, you can take the following steps:
- Ensure that the relationships between tables are set up correctly. Sometimes circular dependencies can be solved by reorienting relationships or removing unnecessary relationships.
- Try to simplify the calculation. Break down the calculation into smaller, more manageable parts and verify at each step that no loops have been inadvertently created.
- When you are already using variables, make sure they do not create loops. Sometimes, adjusting how variables are used in DAX formulas can help eliminate circular dependencies.
- Ciruclar Dependencies are not always straightforward. Indirect circular references may occur if another metric or calculated column you are using in a calculation depends on the code you have given. Check all related measures and calculation columns for potential indirect circular references.
