Check Partitions in Incremental Refresh
is there a way to check how many partitions created during incremental refresh and which partition has got refresh recently?
You can use DAX Query view or DAX studio to run a query against the semantic model
EVALUATE VAR _partitions = INFO.PARTITIONS() VAR _tables = INFO.TABLES() RETURN ADDCOLUMNS ( _partitions, "Table Name", VAR _TableID = [TableID] RETURN MAXX ( FILTER ( _tables, [ID] = _TableID ), [Name] ) )Note: The query above was run against a semantic model that does not use incremental refresh. The actual partition names will appear in the Name column.
Alternatively, you can use Tabular Editor to inspect the partitions without using DAX.

Hi powerbiexpert22,
Yes. The partitions only exist in the published model (Desktop just has one), so check them in the Service, either with a DAX query or over the XMLA endpoint:
1. DAX query view (Desktop connected live to the published model, or a DAX query in the Service):
EVALUATE SELECTCOLUMNS ( FILTER ( INFO.PARTITIONS (), [TableID] = 123 ), -- your fact table ID, or remove the filter "Partition", [Name], "RefreshedTime", [RefreshedTime], "State", [State] ) ORDER BY [RefreshedTime] DESCRun EVALUATE INFO.TABLES() first to find the TableID of your fact table. The count of rows is the number of partitions, and RefreshedTime shows which ones the last refresh touched.
2. SSMS or Tabular Editor via XMLA (workspace settings > License info > connection string): expand the table > Partitions to see each partition with its last processed time. Handy if you also want to refresh a single partition manually.
3. Refresh history API for what happened per run (start/end, status):
GET https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/groups/{workspaceId}/datasets/{datasetId}/refreshes?$top=5So my overall approach would be:
INFO.TABLES -> find fact table ID -> INFO.PARTITIONS for count + RefreshedTime per partition -> SSMS/Tabular Editor over XMLA for a visual view -> Refresh history API for per-run statusAI-assisted drafting: AI was used to help structure and phrase this response. I reviewed and validated the technical content before posting.
