Change Type without Query Editor
Hi,
I'm having issues connecting a Direct Query to a custom date table. I know the issue is that I need to go into Transform Data and amend a 'Created On' column from DateTime to Date. However, I have the 'The type of the current preview value is too complex to display' issue.
From experience I know that changing the format here does nothing, and has to be done in query editor. However, as I can't get to the query editor, I am stuck.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply from DataInsights, please allow me to provide another insight:
Please try converting the data type again in the power query editor without using a relationship. Complex relationships may result in ‘The type of the current preview value is too complex to display’ error.
Alternatively, you can try using dataflow, which is a collection of tables created and managed in the workspace of the Power BI service. A table is a set of columns used to store data, much like a table in a database. You can transform this data into well-formatted, actionable information within it. You can add and edit tables in a data flow and manage data refresh schedules directly from the workspace where you created the data flow.

You could create a calculated column in the DirectQuery table, and create a relationship with the date table using this column. Example:
Created On Date = INT ( Table[Created On] )Hi Stanmore_1 ,
