Advocate IIICan't display the visual - text
I have more problems with text in Power BI than anything else.
This time, I'm trying to display a text column in a table, and I keep getting the following error:
Which is odd, because I can view the text column just fine in the Query Editor (direct query):
I can also query it just fine in SSMS 17.1.
Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone seen this before?

jogliddenBTW, the Sql Server data type is 'Text'.
I am having the exact same issue. All of my text columns (varchar in SQL) come in fine except for ONE of them which is a text column in SQL, when I add this one column I get the exact same error as you.

I could reproduce this error in my test. I have reported this problem internally and I will update my reply once I get the feedback.

Yuliana Guv-yulgu-msft I'm having the issue when connected to SQL through Direct Query as well, if that helps you.
jogliddenv-yulgu-msft I decided getting my report built was more important than waiting for this to be solved, so i switched from Direct Query to Import, and the table displayed perfectly fine. Would prefer DQ, so hopefully this bug is fixed soon, but for now I'm up and running again!
