ARCGIS Visual Resets Upon Refresh
Hi Everyone,
I have connected to ARCGIS to utilise the ARCGIS map visual.
Once I have added my points, it looks like this:
However, once I refresh the page, even after saving, all of my edits are reset to a blank map:
How do I save my amendments?
Cheers.

Hi Donerandparmo1
Are the points in the above Image coming from the Latitude/Longitude fields in your Power BI dataset, or did you manually add/pin them using the ArcGIS map tools? - Ritaf1983

don't think this is related to the Power BI save itself.
In your second screenshot, ArcGIS is showing “Map creation restricted – Your current user role and type have limitations.”
ArcGIS for Power BI stores the map configuration as part of the Map State, and according to Esri, saving changes to that state requires an ArcGIS account with a Creator user type (or higher) and the appropriate role/privileges.
Without those permissions, changes may appear while editing but can be lost when the visual is reloaded or the report/page is refreshed.
I would ask your ArcGIS administrator to check your ArcGIS user type and role. If you already have a Creator user type, also check whether you are using a restricted/custom role that does not include the required publishing/creation privileges.
After the permissions are changed, sign out of ArcGIS in the visual and sign back in before saving the report again.
This looks especially likely in your case because the restriction message is already visible in the screenshot.

Hi Donerandparmo1,
I think the issue is with the ArcGIS visual configuration rather than the points themselves.
Since the points are showing correctly when you add them, but disappear when you refresh/reopen the report, I'd first check whether the ArcGIS settings are actually being saved with the report.
I'd try this:
Open the report in Power BI Desktop, configure the ArcGIS visual, save the PBIX, close Desktop completely and reopen the file. If the points/layers are still there, then publish it again and test it in the Service.
If they disappear after reopening the PBIX itself, then the problem is with the visual configuration being persisted, rather than the Service refresh.
Also check whether you're signed into the same ArcGIS account when you reopen the report. Some ArcGIS functionality depends on the ArcGIS account/permissions, so it's worth ruling that out.
Another simple test would be to create a new page with just the ArcGIS visual and a basic Latitude/Longitude field, save it, close the report and reopen it. If that also resets to the default map, then you've isolated it to the ArcGIS visual rather than your existing report.
I wouldn't rebuild the report yet. I'd first test whether the ArcGIS configuration survives a save → close → reopen cycle. That should tell you where the issue is.
