QuickViz Challenge - Line Chart - "Weather Today"

I attempted to recreate the “Weather Today” preview from Microsoft Edge inside Power BI as part of the QuickViz Challenge during Microsoft Fabric Data Days.

The initial goal was straightforward: build a simple line chart to represent temperature trends. However, this exercise evolved into exploring how far we can push custom visuals, design visual and interactivity within Power BI using native features.

Key aspect:

  • Minimalist design approach, inspired by Edge’s clean UI.

This is not a polished solution — there’s room for improvement in terms of visual best practices, dynamic behavior, and UI refinements. The intent was to demonstrate how quickly we can prototype ideas in Power BI and leverage them for storytelling.

    Hello PauloGrijo , and congratulations on this outstanding visual.
    The design is incredibly polished — the minimalist layout, soft gradients, and clean iconography create an experience that feels modern and refined. It really captures the style of the original Weather Today interface while showcasing the power of Power BI’s native capabilities.

    The way you integrated the hourly trend line, precipitation indicators, and weekly forecast is visually clear and functionally elegant. It’s impressive to see how far custom visuals and UI styling can be pushed within the limits of the platform.

    Excellent work — beautifully crafted, highly intuitive, and a great example of creative storytelling in Power BI.
