Waterfall with dynamic X starting point
Hello there,
I have a waterfall chart and in the X axis I have the periods for the year. The user will select a period from the filters and need the X axis to start displaying data from the next month to the end of the year. How can i achieve this? I created a calculated measure but im not able to place it in the waterfall.
Thanks,
Kind Reagards

Thank you lbendlin for your prompt response.Regarding your query on creating a Waterfall chart with a dynamic X-axis starting point, while I’m not fully aware of the exact structure of your dataset, I’ve created a sample .pbix file to demonstrate one possible solution.
One effective way is to:
1. Create a disconnected table to allow users to select a specific month.2. Use a DAX measure to control which months appear in the visual, starting from the month following the selected one.
I have attached a few screenshots and the .pbix file demonstrating this logic. Please review them to see if this solution aligns with your requirements.
If this doesn’t fully meet your needs, could you kindly share a sample of your data and more detailed context? That would help us provide a more accurate solution.
If this response resolves your query, kindly mark it as Accepted Solution to help other community members. A Kudos is also appreciated if you found the response helpful.
Thank You!

It wouldn't be entirely dynamic as you would need to start from discrete baseline points. Can you use the filter pane for the date range?
