Submission process for Certified Connectors

I'm one of the owners of a certified connector (Autodesk Forma). Historically, we've been instructed to submit updates for our certified connector over email.

We submitted an update for our certified connector in July 2026 and have yet to receive a response from our usual contacts. Has any changes been made to the certified connector submission process?

For Power BI's certified connectors, we have not used the Partner Center that you shared in the links above.

We went through the certification process, but were instructed to continue sharing submissions over email

      Hi BreannaNery,
      Thank you for the clarification.

Based on the current Microsoft documentation, the Partner Center process described for updating certified connectors applies to Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Azure Logic Apps. The documentation does not indicate that the Power BI certified connector update process has moved from the email-based process to Partner Center.

For Power BI, Microsoft documents that it certifies and distributes a limited set of custom connectors as certified connectors, while the third-party developer maintains and supports the connector.

Since Autodesk Forma is an existing Power BI certified connector and you submitted the update through the process previously provided by your Microsoft contacts, I recommend checking with your usual Microsoft contact regarding the status of the July 2026 submission and whether there are any updated instructions for Power BI certified connector updates.

For more details, please refer to the below Official Microsoft Documentation:

I hope this clarifies the distinction between the Power BI certified connector documentation and the Partner Center process described for the other connector platforms.

      Thank you.

    Hi BreannaNery,
Thank you for bringing this up.

According to the current Microsoft documentation, updates to an existing certified connector follow the certification process. For verified publishers, connector updates are submitted through Partner Center.

For an existing certified connector, Microsoft recommends reopening the existing offer in Partner Center and updating the relevant section under Product Overview. A new offer should not be created for an existing connector update. Once the update is submitted, Microsoft reviews the updated connector and, if it passes certification, provides a preview environment for testing. After testing is completed, the publisher can confirm Go live in Partner Center, after which Microsoft proceeds with deployment.

Since your update was submitted in July and you have not yet received a response, I would recommend checking with your usual Microsoft contact regarding the status of the submission and whether any further action is required.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
    Thank you.
