dhara3010 - Sure, you can use the time "intelligence" functions to do these sorts of things like TOTALMTD or TOTALYTD or you can do it with simple filters. With time "intelligence" functions you will need a separate date table. 

The general time "intelligence" way looks something like this:

Measure YTD = CALCULATE(SUM([Column]),TOTALYTD('Calendar'[Date]))

A non-time "intelligence" way will look like this:

Measure YTD = SUMX(FILTER('Table',[Date] <= TODAY() && [Date]>=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),1,1)),[Column])
